How to scale a recipe
- Paste the ingredient list from any recipe.
- Type how many servings it makes, and how many you want.
- Copy the new amounts, or send them to your shopping list.
New amount = amount × servings you need ÷ servings the recipe makes
New amount = amount × servings you need ÷ servings the recipe makes
Paste the ingredients, one per line, and set how many servings the recipe makes and how many you need. Every amount is multiplied, including fractions like ½ and 1 1/2, and ranges like 2–3.
It can change between US cups, spoons and ounces and metric millilitres and grams. Cups of flour, sugar and butter become grams using typical weights; for other dry ingredients it converts cups to millilitres, because their weight varies.
Things counted by the piece, like eggs, are rounded to a sensible amount (½ an egg shows as ½). Check those before you start.
No. Bigger batches can take longer to cook or bake, but not in proportion. Keep an eye on them.
