How to fill in a timesheet

  1. Enter the start and end time for each day you worked, and the minutes of unpaid break. Leave days off empty.
  2. Add your hourly rate and how overtime works where you are.
  3. See the hours for each day, the week’s total in hours and minutes and as a decimal, and your pay.

Hours and minutes to decimal hours

Decimal hours = hours + minutes ÷ 60

7 hours 45 minutes is 7 + 45 ÷ 60 = 7.75 hours. Payroll systems usually want decimal hours.

Frequently asked questions

How do I enter a night shift?

Enter the times as they are, such as 22:00 to 06:00. When the end is earlier than the start, the shift is counted as running past midnight.

How is overtime worked out?

Choose daily (hours over a set number each day) or weekly (hours over a set number in the week, 40 by default). Overtime hours are paid at the rate times the multiplier, such as 1.5 for time and a half.

Should I include unpaid breaks?

Yes: enter the minutes of unpaid break for each day and they're taken off. Leave it at 0 if your breaks are paid.

Can I print or save my timesheet?

Yes. Use Print or save PDF under the results for a clean copy, or Copy link to keep this week's times in a bookmark.
