Pace, time and distance
Pace = time ÷ distance
Time = pace × distance
Distance = time ÷ pace
To convert pace per km to pace per mile, multiply by 1.609. A 5:00 per km pace is 8:03 per mile. Speed in km/h is 60 ÷ pace
in minutes per km, so 5:00 per km is 12 km/h.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my running pace?
Divide your time by the distance. For example, 10 km in 55 minutes is 55 ÷ 10 = 5.5 minutes per km, which is 5:30 per km. The calculator also converts it to pace per mile and speed.
What is a good 5K or 10K time?
It depends on age and experience. Many recreational runners finish a 5K in 25–35 minutes and a 10K in 50–70 minutes. Use the race table to see the finish times for your current pace.
How do I enter times?
Type hours, minutes and seconds separated by colons, such as 1:45:00 for 1 hour 45 minutes or 25:30 for 25 minutes 30 seconds. Paces are minutes and seconds, such as 5:30.
Will I really run a marathon at my 10K pace?
Usually not. Longer races are run slower. The race table shows times at the same pace, which is a best case; a common rule of thumb adds 5–10% for each doubling of distance.
