Frequently asked questions
Can the watermark be removed?
Anyone with a PDF editor can delete a watermark that's added as text or an image, so it's a deterrent rather than real protection. For stronger protection, also add a password with Protect PDF, or turn the pages into images with PDF to grayscale.
Does the text stay sharp?
Yes. Text watermarks are added as real text, so they stay sharp at any zoom level and print cleanly.
Which characters can I use?
Text watermarks support English and other Western European languages. For other alphabets, make an image of your text (for example with Add Text to Image) and use it as an image watermark.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is added in your browser.
Can I watermark several PDFs at once?
Yes. Choose or drop several PDFs together. The preview shows the first; every PDF gets the same watermark and they download in one ZIP file.
