Frequently asked questions
Which audio format should I use?
MP3 plays everywhere. M4A (AAC) sounds a little better at the same size and is standard on Apple devices. OGG (Opus) is very efficient but not supported by every player. WAV keeps the full quality but makes large files. FLAC files can be converted from, but not to, because browsers have no FLAC encoder.
Does converting improve quality?
No. Converting a low-quality MP3 to WAV makes a bigger file, but can't restore detail that was already lost. Convert from the best original you have.
Can I convert the audio from a video?
Yes. Choose a video file and its audio track is converted. For the most common case, there's also a dedicated Video to MP3 converter.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Audio is converted in your browser.
