    How to make a word cloud

    1. Paste your text, or a list of words with numbers for their sizes.
    2. Pick a shape, font, colours and direction. The cloud updates as you type; press Shuffle for a different arrangement.
    3. Download a PNG for slides and posts, or an SVG for print, and click any word in the list to leave it out.

    Ideas for word clouds

    • The answers to a survey or feedback form, to see what people mention most.
    • A speech, essay or book chapter, for a class.
    • Names of a team or class, words about a person for a birthday or farewell card.
    • Keywords for a presentation title slide or a poster.

    Frequently asked questions

    How are the word sizes chosen?

    The more often a word appears in your text, the bigger it is. Common words like “the”, “and” and “of” are left out unless you untick that box. To set sizes yourself, write one word per line with a number after it, like “Coffee, 10”.

    Can I make it in a shape?

    Yes: a rectangle, circle, heart, cloud or star, or the outline of your own picture. A logo or silhouette on a plain or transparent background works best.

    How do I remove a word?

    Click it in the list of words under the cloud, or type it in “Also leave out”. Click it again to bring it back.

    Is my text uploaded?

    No. The cloud is made in your browser, so it's fine for survey answers, feedback and other private text.
