Add Subtitles to Video

Add captions to a video automatically with AI, or from an SRT file, style them, and burn them into the picture.

How to add subtitles to a video

  1. Choose your video.
  2. Click Create automatically to let AI write the subtitles, or open an SRT file, or add them yourself while you watch.
  3. Fix any mistakes in the list, and pick a style. The preview shows exactly how they'll look.
  4. Click Save video with subtitles, or download just the SRT or VTT file.

Most people watch social media videos without sound, so captions keep viewers watching. Burned-in subtitles work everywhere, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp.

Only need the text? Use speech to text. Recording too noisy? Clean it first with the noise remover.

Frequently asked questions

Can it write the subtitles for me?

Yes. Click “Create automatically” and an AI speech model (OpenAI Whisper) listens to the video and writes timed subtitles. It runs in your browser, so the video isn't uploaded. Check and correct the text before saving: no automatic transcription is perfect.

What's the difference between burned-in subtitles and an SRT file?

Burned-in subtitles are part of the picture, so they show everywhere, including Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp, which don't support subtitle files. An SRT or VTT file is separate: viewers can turn it on or off on YouTube, in video players and on many websites.

Can I use my own subtitle file?

Yes. Open an SRT or VTT file, adjust it if needed, choose a style and burn it into the video.

Does it work with Sinhala or Tamil subtitles?

Yes. You can type or paste subtitles in any language, including Sinhala and Tamil, and they're drawn with a font that supports them. Automatic transcription works best for English and other widely spoken languages.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Everything, including the AI transcription, happens in your browser on your device.
