Build a professional CV with your own sections, layout, colours and fonts, see it page by page, and download an ATS-friendly PDF.
How to make your CV
Fill in your details on the Content tab. Start from the example or a blank CV, and add, remove, rename or reorder any section.
Choose a template, colours, font and spacing on the Design tab. The preview updates as you type.
Download your CV as a PDF. Your work is saved in this browser automatically.
What makes a good CV
Lead with results. “Cut report time from 3 days to 4 hours” says more than “responsible for reports”.
Match the job. Use the words from the job advert in your summary and skills, so both people and ATS software find them.
Keep it scannable. Short bullet points, newest experience first, and the same date format throughout.
Check the basics. A professional email address, a phone number with the country code, and no spelling mistakes.
Applying with a cover letter? Use the same font and colour so your application looks consistent, and keep your CV and letter to one style.
Frequently asked questions
Is this CV builder really free?
Yes. Every template, colour and feature is free, with no watermark, no sign-up and no limit on downloads. You can make as many CVs as you like.
Will my CV work with applicant tracking systems (ATS)?
Yes. The PDF contains real, selectable text in reading order, not a picture of your CV, so ATS software and recruiters can search and copy it. For the safest result with strict systems, choose the Compact or Classic template, which use a single column.
Where is my CV saved?
Only in this browser on this device. It's saved automatically as you type, and you can keep several CVs. Nothing is uploaded. To move it to another device, use “Save backup file” and open that file on the other device, or share a link.
Should I add a photo?
It depends on the country. Photos are common in Sri Lanka, India, the Middle East and much of Europe, but in the US, UK, Canada and Australia CVs usually don't include one. You can turn the photo on or off at any time.
How long should my CV be?
One page is ideal for students and people with under 5 years' experience; two pages is fine for experienced professionals. The preview shows exactly where pages break, and entries are never split awkwardly between pages.
What's the difference between a CV and a resume?
In most of the world, “CV” and “resume” mean the same thing: a summary of your experience for job applications. In the US, a resume is the usual one- or two-page document, and a CV is a longer academic record. This builder works for both.
