How to use the scientific calculator

Click the keys or type on your keyboard. The result updates as you type, and pressing = or Enter saves the calculation to your history. Use Ans to reuse the last answer and the memory keys to store a value.

Frequently asked questions

Can I type with my keyboard?

Yes. Type numbers and operators directly, press Enter or = to calculate, Backspace to delete and Escape to clear. You can also type function names such as sin( or sqrt(.

Should I use degrees or radians?

Use degrees for everyday geometry, such as angles in a triangle (sin 30° = 0.5). Use radians for calculus, physics and most programming, where a full circle is 2π. Switch with the DEG/RAD button.

What's the difference between log and ln?

log is the base-10 logarithm (log 100 = 2). ln is the natural logarithm, base e ≈ 2.71828 (ln e = 1).

In what order are operations calculated?

Standard math order: parentheses first, then powers and factorials, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. So 2 + 3 × 4 = 14, and −2² = −4.
