How to make a passport photo

How do I take a good passport photo at home?

Stand about a meter in front of a plain, light wall with even light on your face and no shadows behind you. Ask someone to take the photo at eye level, look straight at the camera with a neutral expression and your mouth closed, and remove glasses and hats. Then upload it here and line your head up with the guides.

Where can I print the photos?

Download the 4×6 inch (10×15 cm) sheet and print it as a normal photo at any photo shop, pharmacy or online print service. Choose “no borders” and “actual size”, and don’t let them crop or fit the image. Then cut the photos out along the grey lines.

Will my photo be accepted?

The sizes and head positions here follow common published requirements, but every authority makes its own decision and rules change. Always check the current requirements on the official website for your passport or visa before you print or upload.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
