How to convert HEIC to JPG
- Click Choose HEIC files or drag your photos onto the box above.
- Pick JPG or PNG, and adjust the quality if you want smaller files.
- Download each converted photo, or click Download all.
Why convert HEIC photos?
iPhones save photos as HEIC to save storage space, but the format is still poorly supported outside
Apple's ecosystem. Many Windows programs, online forms, printing services and social sites reject HEIC
uploads. Converting to JPG makes your photos open everywhere.
Private by design
Most online converters upload your photos to their servers. This one doesn't. The conversion happens
inside your browser, so your pictures stay on your phone or computer. Once the page has loaded, it
even works offline.
Tips for the best results
- A quality of 85–90% is visually identical to the original for most photos, at a much smaller size.
- Large batches take a while on phones. Converting 10–20 photos at a time works best.
- Some HEIC files contain several images (such as bursts). Each image is saved as a separate file.
Frequently asked questions
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default since iOS 11. It keeps similar quality to JPG at roughly half the file size, but many Windows apps, websites and older devices can't open it.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. Your photos never leave your device, which also makes the converter work for private or sensitive images.
Should I convert to JPG or PNG?
Choose JPG for photos. It is supported everywhere and keeps files small. Choose PNG when you need lossless quality or plan to edit the image further, but expect much larger files.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Yes. Select or drop as many HEIC files as you like. They are converted one after another, and you can download each photo individually or all of them at once.
How do I stop my iPhone from taking HEIC photos?
Open Settings › Camera › Formats and choose “Most Compatible”. New photos will be saved as JPG. Existing HEIC photos stay as they are, so convert those here.
