Common time differences
Differences change during the year because countries switch to daylight saving time on different dates. For
example, London is usually 5 hours ahead of New York, but for a few weeks in March and in October/November the gap is
only 4 hours, because the US and Europe change their clocks on different weekends. This converter always uses the
correct offsets for the date you pick.

What is UTC?
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the world's reference time. Time zones are described as offsets from it, such as UTC−5 for New York in winter and UTC+1 for central Europe in winter. UTC never changes for daylight saving time.
Why is the date different in the other time zone?
When it's evening in the Americas, it's often already the next morning in Asia and Australia. The converter shows the full date in each zone so you can see when a time falls on the next or previous day.
