Frequently asked questions
Can this unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?
No. You need to know the password that opens the file. The tool removes the password so you don't have to type it every time; it doesn't guess or crack passwords.
My PDF opens without a password but I can't print or copy. Can this help?
Yes. Some PDFs have an owner password that only restricts printing, copying or editing. Choose the file and leave the password empty; if it opens without one, the saved copy has no restrictions. Only do this for documents you're allowed to use that way.
Does unlocking change the content?
No. The pages, text, images and links stay exactly the same; only the encryption is removed.
Is my PDF or password uploaded?
No. The file is decrypted in your browser. Your password and document never leave your device.
