Frequently asked questions

How do I find which browser version I have?

It's shown at the top of this page. The browser and operating system are read from your browser's user-agent information, which every browser sends to websites.

What is the difference between screen and viewport size?

Screen size is the whole display. Viewport size is the part of the browser window that shows the web page, so it's smaller because of toolbars, tabs and the dock. Websites lay out their content to the viewport.

What is device pixel ratio?

The number of physical screen pixels per CSS pixel. A ratio of 2 or 3 means a high-resolution (Retina) display, so images need to be 2× or 3× larger to look sharp.

Is this information sent anywhere?

No. Everything is read and displayed in your browser. Use “Copy report” to share it with support, for example when reporting a website problem.
