Frequently asked questions
Why is my photo sideways?
Phones store the camera's orientation as a separate setting (EXIF) instead of rotating the pixels. Some apps and websites ignore that setting and show the photo sideways. Rotating it here saves the pixels the right way up, so it looks correct everywhere.
What's the difference between rotating and flipping?
Rotating turns the whole image around its center, like turning a printed photo. Flipping mirrors it: a horizontal flip swaps left and right (useful for selfies that look reversed), and a vertical flip swaps top and bottom.
Does rotating reduce image quality?
Rotating by 90° steps doesn't lose any pixels. PNG images stay lossless. JPG and WEBP images are saved again at high quality (92%), which looks the same as the original.
Are my images uploaded?
No. The image is rotated in your browser and never leaves your device.
