Frequently asked questions
Can I paste from a web page or Word?
Yes. Paste into the “Paste formatted text” box and the formatting (headings, bold, links, lists, tables) comes across as HTML, then turns into Markdown. Or paste HTML code into the HTML box.
Are tables supported?
Yes. Simple tables become GitHub-style Markdown tables. Tables with merged cells can't be shown in Markdown, so they're kept as HTML.
What happens to scripts, styles and forms?
They're dropped. Markdown is for text content, so only headings, paragraphs, emphasis, links, images, lists, quotes, code and tables are converted.
Is my content uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser.
