Frequently asked questions
How do I make a crossword?
Write each answer and its clue on a line, like “Paris: Capital of France”. The crossword is built as you type, with numbered squares and the Across and Down clues underneath. Print it or download a PDF, with the answers on the next page.
Some of my words were left out. Why?
Every word has to cross another one at a letter they share. Press New layout to try a different arrangement, or add a word that shares letters with the ones left out.
Can I make it easier?
Yes. Tick “Word bank” to list all the answers under the clues, and “Show the number of letters” to add (5) after each clue.
How many words can it have?
Up to 40. Between 10 and 20 words makes a good puzzle for one page.
