Flowchart Maker

Drag shapes onto a page and join them with arrows that route themselves: steps, decisions, start and end, labelled Yes and No.

Drag the dots on a shape’s edge to connect it. Double-click to type. Tab adds the next step.

How to make a flowchart

  1. Pick a starting point, or start from the example on the page.
  2. Add steps with the shape buttons (or Tab), drag them where you want, and connect them by dragging the dots on their edges.
  3. Double-click a shape or arrow to type, label decisions Yes and No, then download a PNG, SVG or PDF.

What the shapes mean

  • Rounded: where the process starts and ends.
  • Rectangle: a step, task or action.
  • Diamond: a question or decision, with an arrow for each answer.
  • Slanted: information coming in or going out, like a form or a report.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect two shapes?

Point at a shape and drag one of the small dots on its edges to another shape. Let go on an empty spot and a new step is made there, already connected. On a phone, tap a shape, then Connect, then the shape to connect it to.

How do I add the next step quickly?

Select a shape and press Tab, or press one of the shape buttons: the new step goes below it, connected, ready for you to type. Double-click any shape or arrow to change its words.

Which shapes does it have?

Start and end (rounded), process step (rectangle), decision (diamond), input or output (slanted), document, database, circle and sticky note, in eight colours. Arrows can be elbowed, straight or curved, with a label such as Yes or No.

Is my flowchart saved?

Yes, in this browser, every time you make a change. Download it as a PNG, an SVG that stays sharp at any size, or a PDF. Nothing is uploaded.
