How to flip a coin online
Press Flip (or F on your keyboard). The coin spins and lands on heads or tails. The tally keeps count of every flip, and the strip below shows the last 30 results.
Ways to use it
- Settling a choice between two options, or who goes first.
- Kick-off and ends in sports, or turn order in games.
- Teaching probability: flip 1,000 coins and see how close to half the result is.
More than two options? Roll dice or spin the wheel.
Frequently asked questions
Is this coin flip really 50/50?
Yes. Each flip uses your browser's secure random number generator, so heads and tails are exactly equally likely, and no flip depends on the last one.
Why did I get heads five times in a row?
Streaks are normal. In 100 flips, a run of six or more of the same side happens more often than not. Over many flips the counts even out towards half and half.
Can I flip lots of coins at once?
Yes. Choose how many coins, up to 1,000, and you'll see how many came up heads and tails.
Can I flip with the keyboard?
Press F anywhere on the page, or Enter or the space bar while the Flip button is focused.
