Frequently asked questions
What is PDF metadata?
Information stored inside the file besides the pages: the title shown in browser tabs and search results, the author, subject and keywords, the program that made it, and when it was created and last changed.
Why would I change it?
A clear title and author look professional when you send a CV, report or e-book, and help the file be found in searches. Removing metadata stops a file from revealing who wrote it, which program made it, or when.
Does “Remove everything” clean the file completely?
It clears the title, author, subject, keywords, creator, producer and dates. Text and pictures on the pages, comments and form fields aren't changed; to hide words on the pages, use Redact PDF.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is read and changed in your browser.
